For this reason, it is necessary to implement a skincare routine that focuses on cleansing and nourishing the skin with essential vitamins and minerals. Here are a few tips on how to maintain healthy pores: 


Exfoliate when Needed 


Exfoliation is essential to help maintain and protect your skin. If you currently suffer from excessive blackheads or acne-prone skin, exfoliating regularly can help improve the texture of your skin. Studies have shown that exfoliation helps to eliminate dead skin cells from the facial area. Additionally, exfoliation is vital for skin cell generation and repair. Altogether, exfoliating the skin can help brighten its’ appearance overall and also encourages the healing process. 


Although exfoliation comes with several benefits, it’s necessary to consider your skin type before adding a regimen into your skincare routine. As stated before, if you have acne-prone skin, dark spots, or excessive blackheads, exfoliating regularly would work best for your skin. On the other hand, if you have dry skin, exfoliating once or twice a week will work best for your skin. Over-exfoliating dry skin can lead to irritation on the skin, which can result in acne, inflammation, and breakouts. 


Use a Regular Cleanser 


Research has found that using a regular cleanser on the skin is a great way to encourage healthy pore sizes. Cleansing the skin daily helps to remove dirt and impurities from the facial area. Bacteria build-up over time can cause the pores to become clogged, which also leads to inflammation in the facial area. All in all, cleansing the skin at least once a day can help eliminate bacteria and promote healthy skin. 


Always Remove Makeup 


Makeup can contribute to clogged pores over time. For this reason, it is vital to always remove makeup before going to bed. Sleeping in makeup causes an increase in bacteria on the skin, which leads to inflammation in the facial area. Always make sure to use a hydrating makeup wipe to clean the face, followed by a cleanser before going to bed. 


Moisturize Twice a Day 


The skin needs to be moisturized at all times to help encourage healthy skin. When the skin becomes dry, this causes the body to produce an excessive amount of oil as a reaction. Unfortunately, when this happens, the pores can become clogged, which leads to acne, inflammation, and breakouts on the facial area. Always make sure to moisturize in the morning and before bed to help prevent dryness from occurring on the skin.
